This recipe makes one serving or about one quart. Increase the ingredients to make more servings.
1 cup water
1 Tablespoon green smoothie herb mix (recipe below)
1 small Brussels sprout (or piece of broccoli)
1 inch fat cucumber
½ stalk celery
½ inch cube ginger
½ cup fresh or frozen peas
½ medium size carrot (if using carrot from your garden, include the greens)
½ cup packed bitter greens (arugula, dandelion, stinging nettle, escarole, or water cress)*
1 large handful mixed spring greens (or 1 large leaf kale, chard, or collards per person)
1 piece fruit (peach, banana, apple, orange, pineapple, or berries)
1 cup ice
Add powdered stevia or other sweetener until the smoothie tastes good.
Blend the ingredients in a high speed blend until smooth. Add water as needed to make a smooth drinkable mixture. For maximum benefit, drink 2 to 4 cups every day.
